A Taste of The Witting™
Imagine...you arrive at a beautiful
country setting in the late afternoon just as the light is beginning to
soften. You are greeted and welcomed to The Witting, given a name
badge and small gift bag. The other women who are snacking and
chatting and you join them. Excitement and anticipation fills the
air. Soon, you are elbow deep in beads and ribbons, feathers and bells,
glue and charms, creating something unique for yourself from scratch
for the first time in a long time.
Next, your guide for this evening's journey leads you in drumming your
energy into your new creation to make it well and truly yours. And you
follow the others outside to gather in the circle and be seated.
There is a fire pit in the middle with flames dancing in it.
Tucked in your gift bag is a list of ideas, habits and traits you wish
to release and another list of affirmations, prayers and hopes for your
future.
Each women in the circle invokes the energy of one or more ancestress
whose energy she wishes to have with her this night. After each name is
called a bell rings. As you look around the circle, you see smiles and
tears and feel a sense of comfort and safety in this gathering.
The sun sets and stars begin to glow. Slowly, a women approaches the
fire to release the old and annouce the new. There is power in
the words spoken. There is power in the words written. There is
power in the words transmuted by the fire and taken up to the universe
and the heavens.
One after another, more and more is revealed, fears are released,
intentions are shared and strengthened by your presence and that of all
the others. After your turn, you feel unburdened, lighter, like
dancing. |
